Hi, I'm glad you could join me

I am married with grown up children and a few grandchildren, with a husband who lovingly grows lots of fruit and veg for me to cook, preserve, dehydrate, and grows plants and flowers for me to enjoy in the garden.

This website stems from the discoveries I made with my own health problems and food intolerances that I either didn't realise I had, or only had suspicions that I had. It was only when I lost my voice for a while that I discovered the damage I had done to my gut, stomach and oesophagus and I had to find the cause and change my diet.

The thought of change was daunting, but once I knew the main culprits - what my antibodies reacted badly to, and what was safe for me to eat, it wasn't that hard to find delicious (or some at least reasonable) alternatives.

I have a far more varied and interesting diet now, than before, and can tolerate some of those foods that caused a problem if I only have them occasionally.

If you or someone you know has recently had to start avoiding eggs, dairy and gluten, I hope you, or they, get some inspiration from these notes.

I have added a picture of my back garden in the Summer.

You can see fruit trees covered with nets, and a net over a large table where I dry fruit

(hint - Vaseline on the table legs keeps the ants away)

.

I may write a small e-book in the near future on dehydrating fruit & veg' either naturally or in a dehydrator, and how to dry meals for travelling that you can reconstitute.
